Frequently Asked Questions

Will I experience peeling while using this product?

Yes, due to the fantastic exfoliating properties of vitamin A, damaged or unhealthy layers of skin are removed to reveal glowing skin free of texture and marks. If you exfoliate regularly or don't have damaged skin, your skin may not peel and will only fade to perfection.

We also advise a slow usage to start, rubbing the product in at first and increasing use over time. Massaging the product bypasses the effects of the retinol and will avoid peeling.

Will I appear brighter or discolored after using the Refining Crème?

The Refining Crème corrects your skin tone after using other products like the Resurfacing Crème and Spot Treatment. This product evens out your skin tone and may appear slightly brighter if your skin is tanned initially.

Is it normal for my skin to feel irritated?

Yes. Irritation (slight tingling sensation) may occur on newly revealed skin and sensitive areas of your face. To prevent this reaction, Use the Revitalizing Serum before every use to regenerate your new skin cells faster. If you do not have damaged skin, you won’t peel and won't feel any irritation.

We also advise a slow usage to start, rubbing the product in at first and increasing use over time. Massaging the product bypasses the effects of the retinol and will avoid irritation.

What should I do and expect if I never exfoliated before?

If you've never exfoliated before, we advise that you start using the product very slowly by rubbing one pump into your skin and increasing usage gradually over time. Using too much too soon will cause increased peeling and possible irritation.

Your skin will have accumulated a large amount of damaged skin and will be reactive to this powerful product. To help alleviate this further, use a gentle exfoliator like the Exfoliating Cleanser for a week or two before starting this product.

Is this product safe to use outside?

Yes. Although this product has retinol within its formulation, we added sunscreen to protect you from general sun exposure. If you will have longer outside exposure, such as a day at the beach, use a hat and an SPF to protect you from prolonged sun exposure further.

The Refining Crème is flaking and not being absorbed. What can I do?

This product accumulation usually means more product is on your skin that can absorb (maximum absorption level). Gently pat those areas with a damp paper towel to remove the excess.

My Refining Crème has turned a different color. Is it still okay to use?

Yes, the Refining Crème can still be used and changes color due to the parabens and natural formulation of the product. Always store in a cool area to prevent color changes.

Can I use it with any other products?

We do not recommend constantly mixing vitamin A with ingredients such as vitamin C, benzoyl peroxide, and AHA/BHA acids within the same skin regimen due to the fantastic naturally exfoliating properties in vitamin A.

To have complete control over your initial skin journey, we recommend you not mix this product with other brands unless tested together on the forearm prior.

How long do I use this product?

The Refining Crème is safe to use daily. It is excellent at maintaining flawless skin daily.

Can I use it during pregnancy?

No. We do not recommend using products that contain topical Vitamin A during the stages of pregnancy

Can I use it during laser treatments or w/ medications?

We recommend suspending the use of the product around five days before submitting your skin to laser treatment and resume the use once the skin heals and treatment is complete. We also recommend checking with your dermatologist if you are using specific acne prescriptions.

Be patient, this stuff works for African American skin!
This Product is the truth!!!!!! My skin has significantly improved! I started august 2020 had really bad acne and dark spots and discoloration (im African American) & it took about a year but i used this product religiously night & day! I have 80% Clear Skin now December 2021. I will never stop using this product! It’s amazing . Nothing had worked before this product. I tried everything! Every creme, every compound, every peel. This is the only thing that’s shown good results. It definitely took time before I saw results but I can say it 100% works! I used the Claryifying Gel + The refining crème + the facial wash + resurfacing crème. As my skin clears, and the resurfacing crème is almost done, I purchased the spot treatment to use to get rid of the stubborn spots.

In love with this product 😍
This refining creme is a miracle in a bottle. I've literally watch my skin transform within days. These results are shocking, my skin is clearer, firmer,pores smaller. Dark spots have disappeared. The cleanser and toner compliments this product perfectly :u1F970:

AMAZING
Love it! The complexion set has my skin dang near flawless! I don’t have to wear foundation & I get compliments on my skins all the time now! PT products are literally the only products to clear my stubborn dark marks & I have VERY sensitive skin & I haven’t had any reaction. My skin has transformed TREMENDOUSLY. I am a customer 4 life! My skin is better now
This cream help my spots so much under my eyes and around my mouth was a bit dark and it clear up in no time after I started use this on my skin. And I didn’t necessarily need to use any sunscreen while I have this on during the day which is great as well.
